Ambassadors of nine countries, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, El Salvador, Panama, Ecuador, Chile, Peru and Costa Rica met the chief minister and expressed interest in organising the 10-day festival.
Banerjee told reporters that all the nine countries were interested to invest in the state, particularly in food processing.
They also showed interest in IT, tourism and mining, she said.
Banerjee said that she had asked the ambassadors to organise exhibition matches among Brazil Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Costa Rica in the metropolis during the festival period.
She also requested them to visit Sunderbans during the festival period.
