The Datsun currently accounts for more than half of the total sales of Nissan Motor in India.
The Renault Nissan Automotive facility at Oragadam near Chennai is a joint venture between French auto maker Renault and Nissan Motor. It has an installed capacity of producing 4.80 lakh units.
The landmark moment was celebrated in the presence of Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd managing director Jerome Saigot and Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt chief executive officer Colin MacDonald.

Since the launch of the Datsun redi-GO in June 2016, Datsun India has offered three refreshed variants -- redi-GO Sport, redi-GO 1.0L and redi-GO 1.0L Gold -- so far.
