1,000 kg ganja seized, couple arrested in TN

In a major narcotic haul, ganja weighing about 1,000 kgs valued at lakhs of rupees was seized from a house on the city outskirts and a couple arrested today on the charge of stocking them, police said.
The seizure was made when a police team, acting on a tip-off about supply of ganja from the area, searched the house in Pattanam, about 25 Kms from here, in the wee hours.
The team found large quantity of ganja stored in gunny bags and the couple -- Ravi and Thenmozhi -- residing there was arrested, police said.
On information, Rural Superintendent of Police Ramya Bharathi rushed to the spot held investigations.

The seized ganja weighed about 1,000 kgs, worth lakhs of rupees, they said.
There were already a few ganja peddling cases against the couple, police said adding further investigations were on to ascertain the sources of supply of such huge quantity.
