1,300 saplings planted in Harinagar area

Delhi Environment and Forest Minister Imran Hussain today participated in a tree plantation drive in Harinagar Assembly constituency in which 1,300 saplings were planted during the day.
The minister, along with Chief Whip of ruling AAP and MLA Jagdeep Singh launched the drive by planting saplings at Jail Road and other parts of Mayapuri under the constituency.
AAP MLA Jarnail Singh of Tilak Nagar Assembly constituency was also present on the occasion.
The minister urged other public representatives to carry out similar exercises in their Assembly Constituencies to provide green, healthy and pollution free environment to the citizen of Delhi.
"To control air pollution in the city, the stake-holders should participate in effective plantation where emphasis is not only laid on plantation but also on growth and survival of the saplings," he said.
Jagdeep Singh said that about 1,300 tree saplings were planted through the day at different locations and parks in the Hari Nagar constituency.
