1.5 kg gold and 22 bank accounts seized from home of former
Press Trust of India Jamshedpur The state vigilance department officials today seized 1.5 kg of gold and 60 land documents following a raid conducted in the house of an ex-Assistant Commissioner (Excise) at Bhuiyandih under Sitaramdera police station here.
A vigilance team headed by the Deputy SP Naval Kishore Singh conducted the searches in the premises of former Excise department official Biharilal Mandal and seized 1.5 kg of gold jewellery, 22 bank accounts and 60 land documents, Vigilance department Inspector Sakaldeo Ram said.
He said Mandal, who was not at home at the time of the search operation, has owned land in Bhagalpur in Bihar.
A case had been registered against Mandal by a police inspector in January last, he said adding, further investigations were on.
