Police said one Abdul Mohit (39) was arrested on charge of killing his two wives at his house at Hamidpur and then left the bodies close to an oven and then escaped.
The little-burnt bodies were identified as of Saifa Begum (27) and Faizun Nessa.
Police said Abdul conceded during preliminary interrogation that he separately strangulated the two and threw the bodies into firewood-stacked oven to give an impression that they died of burns and fled to another village Dhaliarkandi.
Mohit, a carpenter had three wives and the third one had deserted him and living with her parents family.
