The accident took place on Yeldari-Sengaon Road in Jintur tehsil in Parbhani district, police said adding that , the vehicle was on its way to Jintur from Uti village.
According to police, when the state-run bus reached the narrow bridge, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle fell into the river.
Local fishermen and villagers rescued the passengers, who were trapped in the bus, police said adding that the injured have been admitted to hospitals in Yeldari and Parbhani.
The deceased has been identified as Durgadas Chaughule (65) a resident of Sengaon, police said.
