when a fire broke out at a house and spread to three more adjoining constructions at Alipurduar town today.
Police sources said the fire started at the house of Anjan Kar and spread to three neighbouring dwelling units.
Kar's gutted body was found later.
Two fire tenders fought the blaze and prevented it spreading further.
Police quoted some of the neighbours as saying that the deceased was mentally depressed.
The cause of the fire was not yet clear.
