1 injured in slum fire

One person was injured in a fire
which broke out in a slum in Tangra police station area today, fire brigade officials said.
The fire broke out at around 3.09AM today at shanties located on 26 D C Dey Road in Tangra area, the officials said adding that 20 fire tenders fought for almost five hours to douse the flame at 8.10AM.
The fire spread fast because of the presence of plastic materials in the area which was also used as a dumping ground, a police officer said.
The cause of the fire was not yet known but a probe has started.
