The accident took place late last night when the car hit the parapet at Baldiayajhan, 10 km from here, and fell into 200-ft deep gorge, killing one person on the spot and leaving two others injured, Station House Officer, Tallital, Pramod Pathak said.
The deceased has been identified as Mahipal Singh.
Deepak Mehra and Raju Joshi, who sustained injuries, are undergoing treatment at BD Pande hospital.
All the three were residents of Haldwani.
