One man was today killed as rival factions, belonging to different communities, clashed over a disputed piece of land in Chinauti village here.
A 60-year-old man was allegedly attacked with an axe in the clash, leading to his death, police said.
Police claimed that the disputed land belonged to gram sabha.
The incident led to communal tension in the area and additional force were deployed as a precautionary measure, they said.
SP (Rural) Brijesh Singh said the situation was under control.
