1 killed in fire in plastic factory

A fire broke out in a plastic factory in Narela here last night, leaving a 50-year-old man man dead.
There were around 12 people in the factory when the fire erupted but they were rescued. However, Koshi Nandan Dubey and his son Neeraj (22) were trapped in the blaze, police said.
While Koshi died, Neeraj is undergoing treatment at Raja Harishchandra Hospital, they added.
Koshi worked as a caretaker of the factory while his son was employed as a labourer.
A call about the fire breaking out in the factory was received at 12.10 AM and 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, said a senior officer of Delhi Fire Services.
It is not known yet what triggered the fire. The blaze spread quickly since there were combustible substances, including adhesives, stored in the building, said the fire department officer.

"A case has been registered and it's only after we receive a report from the fire department, we will know the exact cause of fire," he said.
The fire was doused almost nine hours after it started.
Officials said that the casualties might have been higher had it been daytime.
A few days back, a fire had broken out in a shoe factory in Narela in which a 22-year-old youth was charred to death.
