The incident took place yesterday when four persons, who were forcing a labourer to work for them, took offence to one Ram Autar taking his side and allegedly opened fire, injuring eight persons of Autar's family, they said.
The injured were rushed to the district hospital where Autar's son-in-law, Ram Naresh (40) succumbed to his injuries, police said.
An FIR has been registered against the accused and the deceased's body has been sent for post-mortem examination, police said, adding senior officials including the Senior Superintendent of Police Govind Agarwal rushed to the area.
