10,000 meritorious students given laptops by govt: HP minister

Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma today said the government had distributed laptops to 10,000 class 10 and 12 students based on their results in this year's state board examinations.
Multimedia and IT enabled study systems have been provided in 2,142 higher and senior secondary schools in the state, the minister said after inaugurating an additional building for a school in Dharamshala assembly constituency's Jadraangal village.
He also laid the foundation stone for the Manuni bridge which will provide all-weather connectivity to six remote villages.
Sharma said that Rs 5.50 cr is being spent on the beautification of the Mata Chamunda Devi Temple and Rs 1 cr has been sanctioned to upgrade the Badoi-Padhar road and Rs 2.50 cr for the Badoi-Sakoli road of the constituency.
The minister also inaugurated a health sub centre at Kaned and bridges on the Gurlu Nala and Passu.
