Ten aldermen each have been nominated to the three BJP-led municipal corporations by the Delhi government, the civic bodies today said.
Aldermen are nominated from among social workers or experts in different fields and help guide in the functioning of the corporations.
The erstwhile unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was trifurcated into North, South and East Delhi Municipal Corporations or NDMC, SDMC and EDMC respectively in 2012.
The MCD has been ruled by the BJP for the last 10 years.
The BJP had won 181 wards in the MCD polls held in April. The Congress and the AAP, both of which received a severe drubbing in the elections, bagged 31 and 49 wards respectively.
NDMC mayor Preety Agarwal alleged that the nomination of aldermen to NDMC has been done in view of "party politics" as six members are nominated from one zone--Narela. "It shows something is fishy and is being done intentionally.
