10 contenders to advance in VFX Oscar race

"The Jungle Book", "Arrival" and Harry Potter spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" are among the 10 contenders that will advance in the visual effects category at the 89th Academy awards.
Other movies that will compete are "The BFG", "Captain America: Civil War", "Deepwater Horizon", "Doctor Strange", "Kubo and the Two Strings", "Passengers" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story".
The list will be shortened to best five for final Oscar consideration. Nominations will be announced on Tuesday, January 24 with final ceremony slated to take place on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
