10 killed in accident in Pak's Sindh province

Ten members of a family, including women and children, were killed and five others injured today when a minivan they were travelling in plunged into a river after being hit by a truck in Pakistan's southern Sindh province.
The minivan carrying women and children was hit by a truck on Lyari highway here and it plunged into the Lyari river breaching the safety barrier, police said.
"Those killed include five women and five children of one family," Aftab Channar, an official at the Civil hospital said.
Channar said six dead bodies were brought to the hospital but later out of the injured four succumbed to their injuries.
He said the women were aged between 40 and 20 years while the children were aged between two to four years.
Channar said five people were being treated for injuries.

Rescue workers and police reached the accident spot to retrieve the minivan from the Lyari river.
The occupants of the minivan were relatives and were going to Lea market from where they had to travel to Quetta.
Police was currently on the look out for the truck driver, officials said.
