The cadres turned themselves in before senior police and administration officials at the Bastar district headquarters, located around 300 kms away from here.
The community policing initiative 'Amcho Bastar, Amcho Police' (Our Bastar, Our Police) of police that focused on rehabilitation of naxal cadreshas been yielding better results, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Dantewada range) Sundarraj P told PTI.
"The surrendered ultras, in their statements, expressed disappointment with hollow Maoist ideology and violence committed by them," he said.
Besides, they also said that they were impressed with the efforts being made under the community policing campaign, he added.

They all belonged to Darbha division of Maoists, which has been instrumental in executing several deadly naxal attacks in south Bastar, the DIG said.
All of them were tasked with arranging ration, convening meeting of villagers for their senior colleagues, passing information about the movement of police and others, he added.
Cash of Rs 10,000 was given to each surrenderedrebel as encouragement money, the DIG said adding that all of them will be facilitated as per thesurrenderand rehabilitation policy.
