10 private hospitals face action for violating norms

About 10 private hospitals in the national capital have violated norms laid down at the time of allotment of land at concessional rates, the Lok Sabha was told today.
The hospitals are Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Rockland Hospital (Qutub Institutional Area), Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research, Dr BL Kapur Memorial Hospital, Shanti Mukund Hospital, RLKC Metro Hospital, Rockland Hospital (Dwarka), Mool Chand Khairati Ram Hospital and St. Stephen's Hospital, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said in a written reply.
He said action as per terms and conditions for allotment of land to private hospitals is taken against the defaulting private hospitals and nursing homes which includes issue of breach notice, show cause notice before exercising powers of re-entry, cancellation of allotment.
Delhi government has constituted a monitoring committee which inspects at least 4 to 5 identified hospitals each month to monitor provisions of free treatment in these hospitals.
He said 78 patient welfare officers have been appointed and posted in government hospitals for increasing and facilitating the number of referral of economic weaker section patients from government hospitals to identified private hospitals.
