Police in the provincial capital of Lahore arrested a man named Altaf Mahmood, his wife Nasira and son Ibrar for allegedly killing the maid. A murder case was registered against them.
Superintendent of Police Omer Riaz told PTI that Mahmood, a resident of Lahore Cantonment, had employed Iram Ramzan of Okara district about three months ago.
Mahmood, his wife and son had confessed to torturing the young girl with plastic pipes, he said.
Iram, who was employed for a monthly salary of Rs 3,000, was the youngest of six siblings. Her father died some time ago.

Mahmood told police that Iram had recently stolen Rs 100. He claimed she had stolen money several times in the past. "We wanted to teach her a lesson this time," he said.
The autopsy report said there were 23 marks of torture on the girl's body.
A court here today remanded the three arrested persons in police custody for three days.
