100-bed hospital to be constructed as part of 91st birthday of

As part of 91th birthday celebrations of Santhalinga Ramasamy Adigalar, the pontiff of Perur Mutt here, some industrialists and philanthropists in the region have joined together to construct a 100-bed multi-specialy hospital at Mudalipalayam on the outskirts, his birth place.
The Rs.20 crore project, coming up over five acres, is expected to be completed in another two years, where the needy and poor patients will be either be treated free or on concessional rates, Dr Nalla G Palanisamy, Chairman, Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital, one of the trustees told reporters here today.
The hospital project will be inaugurated by Kerala Governor P Sathasivam on October 10, he said.
The Adigalar, who is keen in promoting education, particularly Tamil Language and health sector, has expressed his wish to construct an hospital to serve the needy and poor of the villages, which would become a reality now, he said.
The 91st birthday will be celebrated in a grand manner from October eight for three days in the Mutt premises, during which Mauritius Minister, Swaminathan will open a Guest House.
There will be a religious conference on Veera Saivism, which will be inaugurated by Jagathguru Sivaraathri Thesikendhira Maha Swamigal of Mysore Suttur Mutt, in which union minister Pon Radhakrishnan will participate, S V Balasubramanian, another trustee, said.
A seminar on Tamil will be inaugurated by Meghalaya Governor, V Shanmughanathan on October nine.
