102 dengue cases in China

A total of 102 cases of dengue fever have been reported in southwest China since last week, state media reported today.
The authorities in Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Xishuangbanna is asking local residents to eradicate mosquitoes to prevent the disease, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne, potentially fatal disease that affects between 50 and 100 million people in the tropics and subtropics each year, resulting in fever and muscle and joint aches.
