Eleven men have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an IPL gambling racket in outer Delhi's Kanjhawla, the police said today.
A raid was conducted at Gajraj Farm in Nizampur village on May 13, and the accused, who placed online bets during a match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, were nabbed, they added.
The accused were identified as Lucky, Balbir Singh, Ashish, Madan Mohan, Imran, Rajiv Chawla, Chander Prakash, Anil Kumar, Inderjeet, Jitender Singh and Amardeep.
Interrogations revealed that Chawla was the kingpin of the racket, said MN Tiwari, additional commissioner of police (Outer).
The accused had rented the place a couple of months ago. They would coordinate with other people via mobile phones for bets according to the rates on an online betting site, he added.
The police seized 68 cell phones, eight laptops, three LED TVs and other electronic equipment from the accused.
