girls, were rescued in two raids conducted by Delhi Police from North West district here today.
Eight children were rescued from a shoe stitching factory in Arvind Enclave Amar colony, Nangloi while three were rescued from domestic labour from Ashok Vihar, police said.
Children in the shoe stitching factory were forced to work for long hours and under extreme conditions. Two children among the rescued are girls, they said.
The raids were conducted after a complaint by Bacchpan Bachao Andolan (BBA), an NGO which works for child rights.
"I am working here along with my sister for more than a year. We were forced to work under bad conditions and not even a single fan was provided to us in this heat. Sometimes, we had to work among heavy machinery and hazardous chemicals," BBA quoted a rescued girl as saying.

Working for a period of 4-22 months, the children were involved in hazardous work of shoe stitching. Boys and girls worked together and in the same premises, BBA said in a statement.
The kids belonged to poor families and got minimal wages in this factory.
The rescue operation was led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, J S Rana accompanied by police officials of Nangloi Police station and BBA activists.
The second raid was a domestic rescue by officials of Ashok Vihar police station in H block after BBA complained to police helpline no 1291.
The three children were from Jharkhand, Bihar and Assam and were brought by agents in these houses.
Police said that they are waiting for the medical reports of the rescued children after which FIRs in this connection will be registered and arrests in this connection can be made.
