11 killed in road mishap in AP

In a tragic incident, 11 people were killed today in an accident involving a car, a lorry and a two-wheeler on the national highway in Nakkapalli mandal here, police said.
The mishap occurred at around noon when a total of nine passengers were travelling in the four-wheeler, which was heading towards Rajahmumndry from Visakhapatnam, when it jumped over the divider and rammed into a lorry coming from opposite direction on Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada NH-16 near Kagitha village, Nakkapalli Police Station inspector, L Ramana said.
Due to sudden collision of car, tyre of the lorry burst and the heavy vehicle hit a two-wheeler, the officer said.

All the nine occupants of the car died on the spot while the two-wheeler driver and pillion rider were also killed in the mishap.
A police team has reached the spot and further details are being gathered, he added.
