Sources today said the decision was taken after the Information and Broadcasting Ministry approved a list of eleven members of the AIR team.
AIR is learnt to have initially submitted a list of over twenty members which was later pruned to eleven by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Prasar Bharati sources said that they had hoped that the clearance for the names could have come earlier so that the delegation could have left in time. A ministry official, however, said that for an event that was known well in advance, the proposal should have been submitted just before the Games began.
The Incheon Asian Games began on September 19 and will continue till October 4.
