11 persons killed in separate road mishaps in J-K

Eleven persons, including three women and a police official, were killed in separate road accidents in last 24 hours here, police said today.
Three women and a male passenger were killed when their car enroute to Jammu skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district at 9.50 AM today, a police officer said.
The bodies have been recovered, he added.
In a similar incident, a special police officer (SPO) and another person were killed when their vehicle fell down the Tharanter bridge in Udhampur district early today, he said.
The deceased have been identified as SPO Sham Lal and Sudesh Kumar, the officer said, adding that four others including constable Ashok Kumar were injured.
One Vijay Kumar was hit by a scooter resulting in his death at Badyala Chak area of the Jammu district today.

Last evening, four persons including an Indian Reserve Police official were killed and two others injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle skidded off the road while they were on their way to Srinagar from Rajouri, police officials said.
The vehicle fell down into 600-feet deep gorge in Peer-Ki-Gali area of Poonch district, they said.
The two critically wounded passengers have been sent to hospital for treatment, they added.
