11-year-old-girl burnt to death by two women

In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl was allegedly burnt alive by two women who were angry with her for telling on their daughters after they stole fruits from a backyard of a house in Odisha's Deogarh district.
Two women, identified as Moli Sahu and Sulochana Sahu, were arrested today for allegedly burning to death Rinki Behera, a class 6th student, at Balinali village in Barkote police station area yesterday, police said.
Following a complaint lodged by Usharani Behera, mother of the deceased, a case had been registered and the two accused taken into custody, Deogarh Superintendent of Police Satyajit Naik said.
Rinki and two other girls had plucked pomegranates from the backyard of a house in the same village on Wednesday. Later, Rinki disclosed the matter to the owner of the house which angered the mothers of the two other girls as they wanted the episode to remain a secret, police said.
The mothers, Moli and Sulochana, allegedly poured kerosene on Rinki and set her afire in her house yesterday, they said adding the girl's grandmother rushed to the spot hearing the noise and tried to save Rinki.
The girl was sent to the district headquarter hospital at Deogarh but she succumbed to injuries, the SP said adding that a scientific team was sent to the spot and further investigation was on.
