The arrested, all visitors to famous botanical garden, popularly known as the 'Sibpur Botanical Garden', were seen openly gambling inside the periphery by the private security guards who then informed the local police after confining them, they said.
A gambling board was also seized from the spot, a police official said adding the 12 are now in police custody and further probe in underway.
