The officer, Nabil Farag, was killed by a gunman when security forces entered Kerdasa in an attempt to flush out Islamist militants hiding there.
Twelve people were sentenced to death for his murder and ten other defendants were sentenced to life while one defendant was acquitted.
The 23 defendants were accused of committing terrorism, funding and establishing an outlaw group.
Kerdasa, near Cairo, was at the centre of fierce clashes, last year, between security forces and then President Mohammed Morsi's supporters, who dominated the village before police raided it to reimposed state control.
