allegedly being trafficked here to work as a domestic for a a retired government official, was rescued this morning, a rights NGO claimed today.
The girl was rescued by Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Delhi Police on a complaint filed by Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA).
A statement from BBA said its head of victims assistance team saw a scared Sheena (name changed) in the train on his way back to Delhi from Patna.
"After speaking with the girl, he realised the girl had been brought after paying Rs 1000 to the family as advance and the girl had been promised a salary of Rs 1000 per month to work in the house of the man who was a retired CBI officer," the statement said.
After coming to know the background, the BBA alerted the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Delhi Police and based on the complaint, police officers and volunteers from Childline came to the rescue of the girl.
The rescue team was waiting for the train to arrive and the man was apprehended immediately after de-boarding at the station, the statement said.
An FIR would be lodged against him as per the statement of the girl when she will be produced before the Child Welfare Committee.
