Organised by the District Social Welfare department, District Revenue Officer T Christuraj honored those who had crossed 90 years of age and presented articles worth Rs 1,000 to each of them.
The articles include umbrella, shawl, towel and a torch, an official release said here.
Christuraj urged people not to send their parents or elders to old age homes and to strive for creating a soceity where no old age homes existed.
