12th boy scores 96 pc despite kidney failure, govt offers help

Rajasthan government has announced to help a meritorious student from a middle class family, who despite kidney failure, exhibited strong will and secured fifth position in the merit list of Intermediate examination.
Prakhar, 17, son of an LIC agent, who has been on dialysis after his both kidneys failed, secured 96 per cent in science stream after results were declared yesterday by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has assured the family that his government will provide all possible help to them, an official spokesperson said.
"Now the transplantation will be free of cost as the Chief Minister consulted with Dr Naresh Trehan, CMD of Medanta hospital of Gurgaon, on telephone about the case," the spokesperson said.
"The achievement of the boy is remarkable. His success will inspire other students," Gehlot said in a statement.
