13 AAP MLAs nominated to municipal corporations

Thirteen AAP MLAs have been nominated by the Delhi Assembly Speaker to the three municipal corporations, civic officials today said.
While five AAP lawmakers each have been nominated to the North Delhi and South Delhi Municipal Corporations (NDMC and SDMC), three will be in the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).
According to the Delhi Assembly notification, the members chosen for the NDMC are -- Akhilesh Pati Tripathi (Model Town MLA), Jitender Singh Tomar (Tri Nagar), Rajesh Gupta (Wazirpur), Sanjeev Jha (Burari), and Sharad Kumar (Narela).
Both NDMC and SDMC are 104-member Houses while EDMC has 64 members.
The nominated members for the SDMC are -- Amanatullah Khan (Okhla), Bhavna Gaur (Palam), Jarnail Singh (Tilak Nagar), Naresh Balyan (Uttam Nagar) and Prakash (Deoli).

The nominated members for the EDMC are -- Anil Kumar Bajpai (Gandhi Nagar), Ishraq Khan (Seelampur) and Sarita Singh (Rohtas Nagar), the notification said.

Elections to the three civic bodies were held on April 23 and the results were declared on April 26.
The new teams of the three newly-elected houses took charge last month.
The BJP, which retained its control of the three civic bodies won 181 seats. The AAP, which is the opposition party in all three corporations has 49 councillors and Congress has 31 in total.
