13 killed in three separate road mishaps in Gujarat

Thirteen persons, including an eight-month-old girl, were today killed and around 30 others injured in three separate road accidents which took place in Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Mehsana district in Gujarat.
In Gondal town of Rajkot, six persons were killed and 13 others were injured when a passenger van, carrying 20 persons, overturned near the town, police said.
"A Matador carrying 20 passengers, who were going to Junagadh from Morbi, overturned in the wee hours when the driver tried to take a sharp turn. Six persons died on the spot while 13 others sustained injuries" police sub- inspector of Gondal taluka J M Solanki said.
"The injured were given primary treatment at Gondal civil hospital and were then refereed to Rajkot civil hospital" he said.
The deceased have been identified as Lakshman Parmar (55), Kalabhai Parmar (30), Harshad Bhalodia (38), Parsottam Chaudhary (57), Thakarshi Bavalva (55) and Virji Fultariya (60).
In another incident, four persons were killed when a private bus carrying 40 passengers rammed into a truck from the rear side at Fatehpura circle on Mehsana-Unjha road in the wee hours in Mehsana district.

while 20 other sustained injuries, Barot said, adding the injured were referred to nearby hospital and a case is being lodged.
In Bhavanagar district, two women and an eight-month-old girl were killed when a speeding truck rammed into an auto, in which they were travelling at Nari village.
"These women had hired an auto to reach Bhavnagar town from a nearby village. When the auto reached at Nari village, a speeding truck hit them at a turning, killing them on the spot. The truck driver has fled. We have lodged an FIR against him and investigations are on" PSI R L Dave of Vartej police station said.
The deceased were identified as Radha Devipujak (50), Vaktuben Devipujak (70) and eight-month-old infant Dhabu Devipujak.
