13-year-old girl allegedly raped by neighbour

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in west Delhi's Vikas Puri area here.
The accused identified as Sanjay Mandal has been arrested by police.
According to police, the incident took place last evening when the girl was playing outside her residence. Mandal is a security guard with a private school.
"We have arrested Sanjay Mandal, who lived in the girl's neighbourhood. When the girl was playing outside her house, Mandal reached there and took her into his room where he allegedly raped her. After committing the crime, he fled from the spot," Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Ranvir Singh said.

Singh added that after the incident, the girl narrated her ordeal to her mother, who informed the police.
"Further investigation is on," Singh said.
