Reports reaching here said that six people died in Jalaun, three in Pratapgarh, two each in Bulandshahr and Jaunpur and one in Gazipur districts in incidents of house collapse and drowning.
A total population of 17,01,937 has been hit by the floods in the state where 1,097 villages are adversely affected, relief commissioner's office said.
Continued rains, specially in the eastern regions of the state, has led to serious problems with the major rivers continuing to flow above the danger mark.
In Ballia, two teams of NDRF and two of PAC were assisting in relief operations in 197 affected villages while in Allahabad more than 3,000 people were today shifted but the situation was likely to improve with the Army completing the repair of STP embankment which has led to inundation of low lying areas, the office said.

In Mirzapur and Hamirpur, one team each of NDRF was assisting in the relief operations, sources said, adding that a maximum of 374 villages and a population of over five lakhs was affected in Mirzapur followed by Gazipur where 314 villages were affected.
Yamuna at Naini, Ken at Banda, Sharda at Palia Kalan, Ghaghra at Turtipar, Rapti at Balrampur, Budhi Rapti at Kakrahi and Quano at Chandradeepghat were flowing above the red mark.
According to Met office, chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms are: Sardhana-21, Orai-8; Fursatganj; Sambhal, Hamirpur, Kalpi-7 each, Haidergarh, Garotha, Maudha-6 each, Hasanganj, Akbarpur , Sandila, Rath-5 each, Malihabad, Neemsar, Budhana, Najibabad, Bareilly, Agra, Rampur_4 each.
They forecast that rain and thundershowers would occur at many places in east UP and isolated places in west UP.
