Fourteen workers were rescued today after five days from a collapsed railway tunnel in China's southwest Yunnan Province, while one still remains missing.
The survivors, who were pulled out early today, were sent to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and psychological counseling according to their conditions, authorities said.
However, one person remains missing and the rescue operation continues, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The tunnel collapsed on Monday in Funing County of Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Wenshan, trapping 15 workers.
Rescuers had drilled a hole in the collapsed tunnel and managed to send food, water and flashlights to the workers.
The tunnel, known as Funing No. 1 tunnel, was on a pivotal railway linking Yunnan with China's southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
