According to the complaint, neighbour Praveen took the boy to a nearby field last night and sodomised him.
He also threatened the boy with dire consequences if he revealed the matter to others, police said.
The boy told the incident to his uncle late last night, who took him to the police station today.
An FIR has been lodged, a police officer said, adding the accused has been absconding.
