14-year-student succumbs to burn injuries

The 14-year-old student who was admitted to the Safdurjung hospital after he had set himself on fire, succumbed to injuries today.
The boy Kaustubh Pandit was a student of a private school in Faridabad and had set himself on fire Nov 26.
"The boy had suffered 40 percent injuries. His kidney and lungs had stopped functioning. He died 5.25 AM today," Rajpal, Medical Superintendent, Safdurjung hospital said.
"As the per preliminary investigation reports, Pandit was allegedly harassed by his teacher in front of the class, which led him to take the step. The body was later sent for post mortem," added Rajpal.
