141 people lost their lives in natural calamity in Maharashtra

As many as 141 people in Maharashtra have lost their lives due to some natural calamity in the state, revealed a report.
The disaster management department of the state government has compiled the figures which have revealed that 141 people have died due to natural calamity in the current year from June 1 till yesterday evening.
The same cause is responsible for the death of 187 livestock in the state, the report stated.
Natural calamity had claimed lives of 167 persons in previous year, while 210 domestic animals had died, the report stated.
As per the report, maximum deaths due to natural calamity including floods, drowning and lightning are highest in Konkan division including Mumbai region.
Thane and Palghar districts have reported 10 deaths each in the current season, while nine persons from Raigad had lost their life, it said.
Mumbai city and suburban districts have reported three and five persons' death respectively, the report mentioned.
Nanded district had reported highest number of deaths in the current season as 12 persons lost their life, the report stated.
