Modi said the SHGs have played a pivotal role in ensuring realisation of loans and their performance has been widely-acclaimed.
The state government had declared to set up 10 lakh SHGs in next five years which would ensure more than 1.2 crore families to come out from the impact of poverty, Modi said.
State Banka of India, Bihar Circle, Chief General Manager and convenor of the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) Jivan Das Narayan supported the view of Modi and said the SHGs be constituted in the 15 districts.
Narayan said the SLBC had decided to have Clearing House and Currency Chest in 26 other districts in Bihar.
Clearing houses and currency chests are presently operational in 15 districts, Modi added.
