15 BSF jawans injured in road mishap

At least 15 BSF jawans were injured when a van carrying them turned turtle near Laxmipur in Koraput district today, police said.
The injured jawans were rushed to Sahid Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital at Koraput and four of them who received severe injury were shifted to Vishakapatam for higher treatment, they said.
"All the injured jawans are out of danger but not to take any chance the four jawans were air-lifted to a hospital in Vishakapatnam," said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Laxmipur, Hemant Kumar Padhi.
The incident took place about five kilometre from Laxmipur on Laxmipur-Rayagada road while the jawans were returning to their camp based at Laxmipur after completing a night operation in the area.

The vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge, Padhi said.
