15 candidates file nominations in Gujarat

Fifteen candidates, including the Union Minister Dinsha Patel (Congress), today filed their nominations in Gujarat where Lok Sabha elections to 26 seats will be held on April 30.
On the second day of filing of nominations, five candidates of BJP, four of Congress, one each of BSP and SUCI (C) and four independent candidates filed their papers.
BJP candidates who filed nominations were Leeladhar Waghela from Patan and Rajesh Chudasma from Junagadh, Valu Mangariya from Kutch, Kiritsinh Waghela from Patan and Bhagwan Kargatiya from Junagadh.
Congress leaders Jeeva Patel (Mehsana), Dinsha Patel (Kheda) and Jayesh Patel (Bharuch) filed their nominations. Bharatsinh Parmar filed papers as a dummy candidate from Kheda.
Tapan Dasgupta of Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) filed his nomination papers from Vadodara. Dasgupta will take on BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi and senior Congress leader Madhusudan Mistry.
Bahujan Samaj Party's Parsottamgiri Yadav filed nominations from Banaskantha. Independents Soyam Bhoraniya filed papers from Patan, Jaam Lakhman from Jamnagar, Yashvantray Mehta from Bhavnagar and Surendra Gamit from Bardoli.
The last date of filing nomination forms is April 9.
