15 injured in fire as cylinder leaks during marriage ceremony

About 15 persons, including 12 children, were today injured when fire broke out due to leakage in a gas cylinder during a marriage ceremony at Dhawai Nagar area under the Nauchandi police station, police said.
The incident ocurred when food was being cooked at the marriage ceremony of two daughters of one Nizamuddin, they said.
The gas leakage took place at the enclosure where the chefs were cooking and fire spread to the pandal adjacent to them.
The pandal's roof collapsed and fell on to the people who were having a feast underneath, police said, adding that about 15 people were injured and 12 of them were children.

According to the Nauchandi police, fire brigade personnel were able to control the fire after much struggle.
