150 Chinese businessmen attend India-China trade meet

Over 150 Chinese businessmen attended a China-India forum in central China organised to tap the huge potential of bilateral cooperation in trade and investment sectors.
The theme of the China-India Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum was 'The Reality and Potential of Economic and Trade Cooperation between Hunan and India' with a special focus on agriculture, farm mechanisations and food processing, according to a statement issued by Indian Consul General Y K Sailas Thangal in Guangzhou.
The forum organised at the Chinese city of Loudi was held in coordination with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China's official body promoting overseas investments.
Thangal underlined the huge potential for trade and investment cooperation between India and China and also elaborated the current status of agriculture and farm mechanisations as well as the food processing and food parks in India.
He also pointed out the immense investment opportunities in these sectors which is a priority for the Indian government.
The Consul General also solicited companies from Hunan province to look at the lucrative Indian market for trade and investment opportunities, the statement said.
The India-China Economic and Cultural Council and the India Hunan Chamber of Commerce also took part in the forum.
The event was attended by provincial dignitaries, including Vice Governor He Bao Xiang and about 150 Chinese businessmen and entrepreneurs, apart from representatives of local government's organisations and business chambers.
