As many as 150 unidentified persons have been booked for allegedly attacking a police team which had reached Begawala village here to stop demolition of some under-construction shops, an official said today.
The mob attacked the police team last night and injured two police personnel when they reached the village to prevent demolition of some under-construction shops which were being developed by another group of same community, police said.
Officiating Superintendent of Police Kalpana Saxena reached the spot with additional police force but the mob had dispersed by then, they said.
SHO Amitendra and a police jawan were injured in the attack and they were admitted to the district hospital, they said.
A dispute was going on in the village between two groups of a community over construction of four shops, said police.
One group, on Thursday night, constructed the roofs of shops over which another group objected but the matter was resolved next morning with the intervention of police, they said. But last night, again people from the another group tried to demolish the shops.
A case has been registered against 150 unidentified persons under relevant sections of the IPC and the Criminal Law Amendment Act, they said, adding that a search is on to nab the accused.
