In a written reply to a question in the House, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said that in 2012 and 2013, 902 and 674 Bangladeshi nationals were deported from the national capital.
"As per the direction of the Delhi High Court and the apex court, government had prepared and finalized an action plan for detection and deportation of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in 2005.
"The action plan includes setting up of task forces for identification of illegal migrants, setting up of detention centres by state government to keep the illgal migrants till they are actually deported, setting up of a monitoring cell by Delhi government to cooridnate the functioning of the task forces and a monitoring authority in Union Home Ministry to review the progress of deportation," the minister said.
"The Group 'A' and 'B' posts are filled up by promotion and transfer basis. 727 employees of Group 'C' jail cadre employees have been recruited during the last ten years to various posts and 186 employees/officers gave up their jobs during that period," the minister said.
