The victim yesterday lodged a complaint alleging that when she was going to a field in the village to answer the nature's call, Dharmender allegedly sexually assaulted her.
She further alleged that when she tried to raise the alarm, he shut her mouth with a piece of cloth and threatened her with dire consequences.
The police has registered a case of rape and criminal intimidation against Dharmender under the SC/ST Act.
He was today produced in a local court, which remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.
