A minor girl suffered serious burn injuries after her uncle allegedly poured petrol on her while she was preparing tea on the gas stove, police said.
The incident occurred today after a verbal spat between the victim's mother and her Greece-based NRI uncle over money, said SSP Sandeep Sharma.
The accused, identified as Haridass, allegedly poured petrol on the victim and her mother, the SSP said.
The 16-year-old girl caught fire as she was standing close to the gas stove. However, her mother had a miraculous escape, Sharma said.
The girl was rushed to a local hospital, he said.
